Rotating an image to a specified degree
To rotate an image to a specified degree in Paint Shop Pro, you can use commands from the submenu Image – Rotate.
First, open your image in Paint Shop Pro. Then, go to the "Image" menu and select "Rotate". This will open a submenu with several rotation options. To rotate your image to a specified degree, select the "Free Rotation" command.
Once you've selected the "Free Rotation" command, make sure that the "All layers" checkbox is activated. This ensures that all layers of your image will be rotated. Then, specify the direction of the rotation – left or right. After that, enter the value of the rotation angle in degrees. For example, if you want to rotate your image by 20 degrees to the left, you would enter "-20" in the degree field. Finally, press the "OK" button to apply the rotation to your image.
It's important to note that rotating an image by a specific degree may result in some loss of quality or distortion. This is because the image is made up of a discrete set of pixels, and rotating it can involve stretching or interpolating these pixels. However, Paint Shop Pro should handle this process smoothly and preserve your image quality as much as possible.

You can then choose 'Flip Horizontal', which will cause the left side of the image to become the right side, or 'Flip Vertical', which will cause the top of the image to become the bottom. Flipping a selection will convert it into a floating selection, leaving the original layer unchanged.

Additionally, you can rotate your image to any angle by specifying a degree of rotation. To do this, select 'Rotate' from the 'Image' menu and choose 'Free Rotation'. Specify the direction of the rotation and enter the value of the rotation angle in degrees.

Mirroring an image
PaintShop Pro's image editing tools allow you to quickly and easily rotate and mirror images. Creative effects like image mirroring are achieved by turning one side of an image into a mirrored reflection of the other. You can flip or mirror an image so that the left side becomes the right side or the top becomes the bottom.
When you choose the Mirror option, layers or selections are flipped along their horizontal (left to right) or vertical (top to bottom) axis. To mirror an image, open your image in PaintShop Pro and make sure that the Edit workspace is active. Then, from the Image menu, select Flip Horizontal. Alternatively, you can use the key combination Ctrl + M on your keyboard.
You can also apply lossless rotation to JPEG images from the Manage tab while retaining all of the original image data. To rotate an image, you can use commands from the submenu Image > Rotate. You can also rotate an image by clicking the Rotate Right or Rotate Left button on the Standard toolbar.

Straightening an image
Drag each handle of the straightening bar to align it with the part of the image that you want to straighten. For example, if you are straightening an image of a building, you may want to align the handles with the edges of the building.
Once you have positioned the straightening bar, you can choose from the following options on the Tool Options palette:
- Auto – automatically straightens the image based on the position of the straightening bar
- Make Vertical – rotates the image to make the straightening bar vertical
- Make Horizontal – rotates the image to make the straightening bar horizontal
By default, the 'Crop Image' option is checked. This will trim the edges of your photo as part of the straightening process. If you uncheck 'Crop Image', PaintShop Pro will fill the edges of the image with the colour currently selected in the Background swatch on the Materials palette. You can leave the background as is, or use the Crop tool to crop the image to your liking.
